Thank you for...teaching me to respect other people

a father hand and the hand of his babyOne of the most important lesson I have learned from my father is how to respect the different opinions of other people and do not take it personally if someone does not agree with me on something.

Thank you for... bringing me to beautiful places of the world

a girl on the piggyback of his father looking at the seaTogether we have seen many places around the world, from the pyramids in Egypt to the mosque in Instanbul. From all the journeys we had I have wonderful memories that will stay with me forever. My father loves to travel and discover new cultures and places. You can notice his passion when, during a trip, he takes his lonely planet and starts reading out loud the description of the places.

Thank you for... teaching me that reading books is important

the silhouette of a boy that is reading a book under a treeAs a child I had never liked reading much, but growing up my father taught me that reading was really important for keeping my brain active, discover new vocabularies and learning from people smarter than me. Only after high school I understood what he meant and I started reading more.

Thank you for...teaching me how to be more confident with myself

a girl that cover hers eyes with her handsMe and my father are quite alike. When he was a child he was very shy and, like me, he often felt uncomfortable to talk to other people. Growing up he built up his confidence and seeing me going through the same struggles, he kindly shared with me few gold advises.

Thank you for...supporting me, whatever decision I make

Father is throwing his baby in the airWhen, after my solo adventure in Ireland, I decided to quit college and move with my boyfriend to Dublin my father was hearthbroken. Despite the fact that he knew he would see me less often, he did not try to stop me or convinced to stay. He simply told me how sad he was to see me going but at the same time I could count on his full support.
