One of the most important lesson I have learned from my father
is how to respect the different opinions of other people and do
not take it personally if someone does not agree with me on
something.
Together we have seen many places around the world, from the
pyramids in Egypt to the mosque in Instanbul. From all the
journeys we had I have wonderful memories that will stay with me
forever. My father loves to travel and discover new cultures and
places. You can notice his passion when, during a trip, he takes
his lonely planet and starts reading out loud the description of
the places.
As a child I had never liked reading much, but growing up my
father taught me that reading was really important for keeping
my brain active, discover new vocabularies and learning from
people smarter than me. Only after high school I understood what
he meant and I started reading more.
Me and my father are quite alike. When he was a child he was
very shy and, like me, he often felt uncomfortable to talk to
other people. Growing up he built up his confidence and seeing
me going through the same struggles, he kindly shared with me
few gold advises.
When, after my solo adventure in Ireland, I decided to quit
college and move with my boyfriend to Dublin my father was
hearthbroken. Despite the fact that he knew he would see me less
often, he did not try to stop me or convinced to stay. He simply
told me how sad he was to see me going but at the same time I
could count on his full support.
